Vancouver, B.C. – Today, over 275 leaders from forestry and labour organizations and companies issued an open letter to British Columbians calling for a positive path forward as important conversations about old growth continue to take place across the province.

The letter is signed by the heads of small, medium, large and Indigenous-owned forestry companies, contractors and suppliers. Signatories also include associations, labour groups and leaders whose members represent the 100,000 jobs and hundreds of communities supported by BC’s forest sector across the value chain – from lumber, and pulp and paper to secondary manufacturing and value-added production.

The open letter is being issued as the BC Government continues to implement recommendations coming out of the Old Growth Strategic Review and the subsequent processes it has put in place.

The full letter and a full list of signatories can be found here.
